easy no sew valentines day banner burlap

I’m going to share with you how easy it is create a no-sew Valentine’s Day banner in under twenty minutes.  For this project I used burlap that I purchased on a roll.  Burlap is trendy right now, so don’t overpay for it.  The fabric department at Walmart is a great place to scoop some up inexpensively.  I also used Apple Barrel craft paint in red & pink.

After you cut out your burlap fabric, you’ll want to find a piece of cardboard to paint against, otherwise you’ll risk getting paint all over your table.

If you’re not comfortable free-hand painting hearts onto your burlap pieces, then trace a heart or use a cookie cutter as a template for tracing.  To make polka dots, I used the eraser end of a pencil.  It’s fun to look around for tools that can be used for paint — be creative!

When it’s dry, you can sew it {if you have the time} OR use mini-clothespins to attach each piece to a piece of jute.
