Quiet Valley Living Historical Farm
About
Quiet Valley Living Historical Farm preserves the knowledge and skills that were used by early settlers, specifically the Depper family, as they started homesteads in the wilderness. Period costumed “family members” reenact rural life of the 1800s time period using presentations and tours that share the daily activities of the farm.
Tasks such as raising animals, growing crops, gardening, spinning, weaving, hearth cooking, and how technological advances impacted the people who worked the land are demonstrated. A tour of the farm is much more than a chance to see a museum. It is an opportunity to step back in time and experience a look into the life of the original Pennsylvania German family who lived here from the late 1760s to 1913.Quiet Valley is dedicated to educating, engaging, and inspiring visitors through first-person tours, programs, events, field trips, workshops, and more.
