No mid-Atlantic childhood is complete without a visit to Lancaster, PA! Head out to Lancaster County’s only officially designated “Heritage Site” Amish House & One-Room School, and the spectacular Amish Experience Theater five-screen production of Jacob’s Choice at The Amish Experience at Plain & Fancy Farm

This offer includes a viewing of the high-tech, multi-media production of “Jacob’s Choice” at the Amish Experience Theater and the Amish House and One-Room School at the Homestead.

“Compelling” best describes the emotional story of “Jacob’s Choice,” told through the everyday lives of the Fishers, an Old Order Amish family of today. Witness young Jacob’s struggle in choosing the Amish church, or leaving behind family and community for the allure of the modern world. The show lets visitors experience “400 years of history in 40 minutes of magic” and runs every hour on the hour from 10 a.m.-5 p.m.

Afterward, bring the movie to life, as you head out on a tour of the Amish Country Homestead, home of the fictional Amish family of Daniel and Lizzie Fisher, whom you got to know on screen in “Jacob’s Choice.”  Learn about Amish traditions and practices, plain clothing, and life without electricity. Continue your tour with the Fisher One-Room School, filled with authentic desks and furnishings from an actual Amish school. You’ll learn the tradition of teaching eight grades in one room. Tours are 45 minutes and run daily at quarter to the hour, with the first tour at 10:45 a.m. and last tour at 4:45 p.m.
