Thomas T. Taber Museum
About
Located in the heart of Millionaires Row in historic Williamsport, Pennsylvania is the Thomas T. Taber Museum. It’s a small, but fantastic museum to learn about the rich history of the Lycoming Valley.
Beginning with the first people who once lived on the land in Lycoming County, the first exhibit is a Walk Through Time which begins with a geological history of Pennsylvania, approximately 550 million years ago.Â
The Taber Museum is also filled with local artifacts as well as period rooms that showcase the way of life as communities developed in the area. Rooms include a dining room from the Greek Revival period, a general store and barbershop, and a one-room school.
The lower level features an entire room filled with model trains & a miniature display that’s delightful to watch. On the other side of the lower level is a setup of a Blacksmith Shop & more, plus pioneer-era inventions that you’ll be sure to get a kick out of. Our favorite: a dog-powered butter churn!
